Palencia Urban Project 2007-20013

The Urban initiative of the European Commission, financed with F.E.D.E.R funds, is dedicated to the economic and social regeneration of its towns and neighborhoods. The objective is to promote an integrated plan of sustainable urban development. Palencia presented the project, being one of the 43 beneficiary towns. The action covers “El Cristo” and “Ave María” neighborhoods. It has a total of 10 actions including the renovation of buildings, the abolition of architectural barriers, the establishment of cycle lanes, indoor sports hall, new street lighting which eliminates lighting contamination and uses solar energy, etc.
